Vibrations in the Village: Live at the Village Gate captures an ultra-rare 1963 live performance by multi-instrumentalist Rahsaan Roland Kirk at New York’s iconic Village Gate. Recorded for a documentary that never materialized, the tapes sat untouched for 62 years before being restored and mastered by Matthew Lutthans. This limited-edition 2LP, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Le Vinylist in Quebec, comes with an extensive booklet of rare photographs, newly-commissioned liner notes, and testimonials from musicians who knew and were inspired by Kirk, presenting a historic performance in pristine quality.
