The Sunset Violent is the fourth studio album by English band Mount Kimbie, released on April 5, 2024, through Warp Records. This album marks a significant evolution in the band's sound, transitioning from their electronic roots to a more indie rock style. Notably, it's their first project as a quartet, with Dominic Maker and Kai Campos joined by Andrea Balency-Béarn and Marc Pell. The album also features contributions from King Krule on two tracks.

The recording process began in a "disused frat house" in Yucca Valley, California, aiming to find a space near Los Angeles without too many distractions. Campos noted that the desert environment influenced their sound, particularly in the application of reverb to their guitars. After six weeks, the band returned to London to finalize the album, working in an Airbnb before moving to a studio in Tottenham.

Loud and Quiet described it as "an ambitious and carefully constructed record that feels far grander than its modest 37 minutes would suggest."
