Sam's Town is the second studio album by American rock band The Killers, released on October 2, 2006. Named after a hotel and casino in their hometown of Las Vegas, the album reflects the band's desire to capture the essence of American life. Frontman Brandon Flowers described it as an attempt to chronologically encapsulate everything significant that led them to that point in their careers. The album showcases a blend of alternative rock, indie rock, post-punk revival, new wave, and heartland rock influences. Despite mixed initial reviews, "Sam's Town" has garnered a cult following over the years and is now considered one of the standout rock albums of the 2000s.
