Loss of Life is the fifth studio album by American rock band MGMT, released on February 23, 2024. This album marks their debut with Mom + Pop Music in the United States and BMG Rights Management internationally, following their 2018 release, "Little Dark Age."
The album showcases MGMT's signature blend of neo-psychedelia, progressive pop, indie rock, psychedelic pop, soft rock, and psychedelic folk. Notably, it features a collaboration with French singer Christine and the Queens on the track "Dancing in Babylon," marking the first guest appearance on an MGMT album.
The album has been praised for its introspective and off-kilter psychedelic sound, reminiscent of their earlier work on "Congratulations." Fans have noted that it blends folky singer-songwriter elements with their established psychedelic style, resulting in what some consider their most impressive work to date.
