Laurel Hell is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Mitski, released on February 4, 2022, through Dead Oceans. Produced by Patrick Hyland, the album blends synth-pop, indie pop, and electro-rock styles, drawing significant influence from 1980s music.

The album's title refers to a folk term describing dense thickets of laurel in the southern Appalachian Mountains, symbolizing feelings of entrapment.

Mitski wrote most of the songs before and during 2018, completing the album during the COVID-19 lockdowns. She envisioned it as a "soundtrack for transformation," exploring themes of vulnerability, resilience, sorrow, and delight.

"Laurel Hell" was preceded by singles such as "Working for the Knife" and "The Only Heartbreaker," and received critical acclaim for its lyrical depth and production quality. Commercially, it marked Mitski's highest-charting record, peaking inside the top ten in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.
