Released in 1970, “Benefit” is Jethro Tull’s third studio album and marks a transition in their sound toward a more progressive rock direction, blending folk influences with harder-edged guitar work. It was the first Tull album to feature John Evan as a full-time keyboardist and includes themes of isolation, fame, and introspection.
